‘Tis the season to start putting together holiday lists and thinking about Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. It’s time of year when all of our social media ads get wildly misdirected and a touch creepier than normal. Well, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite gifts for your favorite travelers in hope it will inspire you and make your holiday shopping a little easier (or build a wish list for yourself).
- Portable Battery Charger
It is the WORST to be at the mercy of your cell phone’s battery when you want to take photos, get directions, translate something, or retrieve tickets out on an adventure. A battery charger (or two, or three… honestly, you can never have enough of these if you’re like us and forget to charge them regularly.) is an incredible resource to have handy. There are so many great options, we won’t even link just one. But we’ll link up the Amazon search so you can explore those 4 and 5-star reviewed prime-able items.
- Packing Cubes
These are single-handedly THE most recommended item from the UTD team. Seriously. I have an e-mail chain of professed love for packing cubes to prove it. Corinne noted, “I buy them in different colors so if I am stopping first for a few days somewhere, I only have to take out a specific color. I tell all my clients about them! If for any reason my suitcase is overweight, I open the suitcase and can carry one of the cubes if need be (happened to me in Europe actually).” Both Veken and EagleCreek are brands the team love.
- Jazzed Up Acupressure Bracelets
Planning a cruise to warmer weather this winter? (If not, maybe you should…). Acupressure bracelets are great if you tend to get motion sickness (works great for morning sickness too). You can find plain, simple, bands for $5-10 as a great stocking stuffer. If you want to glam it up a bit you can find more stylish options on Etsy and through Uncommon Goods.
- Adventure Essentials Survival Kit
For the hikers and campers out there, this survival kit has a ton of safety supplies packed into a military grade aluminum LED flashlight. Honestly, I’m impressed by the design alone. Explore national parks knowing you have a backup supply of waterproof matches, reflective trail markers, a compass (and more) at the ready.
- The Adjustable Duffle
One of two bags that made our list this year. This adjustable bag from Uncommon Goods can expand or contract into 3 different sizes and 10 configurations. Whether you need a backpack or a large duffle, you can use it for pretty much any getaway you embark on. Plus, you’ll never have to stuff an empty tote into your bag again for mementos – it can be a carry-on for your departure then a duffle stuffed with souvenirs on your return flight!
- The Anti-Theft Backpack
The second bag to make the list offers the ultimate security when traveling. Since the first anti-theft backpack was introduced, tons more have been made with different features and pros and cons to balance out: with or without USB charger, size, style, weight, etc. We recommend checking out this backpack from Uncommon Goods and the different styles XD-Design has to offer.
- Travel Itself
We are a BIG proponent of gifting experiences. Memories will always be the most cherished gift. We’ve discussed before why we believe the best gift is travel and stand by it! The UNIGLOBE Travel Designers fam also have some holiday promotions between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so give us a call or shoot us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll see what holiday magic we can put together for you.
- Get Crafty
Etsy is an incredible corner of the Internet. I’ve already mentioned them a few times, since it’s such a great source to find something unique and tailored to your loved ones. Examples include a travel scarf with secret passport pocket, customized jewelry with sand from your favorite beach (and other travel themed jewelry), scratch-off maps, or personalized passport holders and luggage tags. I recommend just browsing and finding some artsy inspiration. If you have some time to spare, reach out to artists and crafters to come up with something completely one-of-a-kind.
- Honorable Mentions
Not seeing the perfect gift for your favorite world wanderer on this list? There are plenty of other ways to go and stocking stuffer ideas that are worth mentioning, but didn’t make the cut to get their own number this time around:
Whether you’re browsing for yourself or a loved one, we hope this served as some holiday inspiration. As always, our team is available to help with any adventures this holiday season and in the new year!
